Chad Doerman – the Ohio man accused of killing his three young sons on June 15, 2023 – was allegedly mumbling and carrying a Bible before police said he killed his children.

“(He) muttered, 'Chad knows what's right,'” the court document obtained by Fox 19 added Cincinnati Investigators and WCPO claim, adding that he also carried a Bible. “He then began breaking into the gun cabinet that was located in the master bedroom.”

When Doerman's wife saw his behavior, she said, “He scared her, she didn't like what he was doing, and she would call his parents,” the documents state, Fox 19 reports.

Doerman then allegedly told her he was “just kidding” and laid down in the master bedroom. His wife and a son joined him, the documents say, but then Doerman allegedly took his gun and shot his son.

“Immediately, [the mother] called 911 and began rendering assistance,” the documents state, according to Fox 19. “An open 911 call was recorded.” [the mother] screams for her other children to run away.

Doerman's other two sons and his stepdaughter ran from the house, but Doerman allegedly chased his sons and shot them, police said. The boys were later identified as Clayton, 7, Hunter, 4, and Chase, 3.

As his stepdaughter continued to run away from Doerman, she was “stopped by a passerby and….” [she] told her that her father “killed everyone,” the documents say, according to Fox 19.
