Buckeyes close to landing 2025 4-star RB

Things are starting to heat up on the recruiting front for the Ohio State football team and new running backs coach Carlos Locklyn could be close to landing one of his top targets for the 2025 class.

Since Marquise Davis, a fellow Cleveland native, four-star running back, left the Buckeyes' board after choosing Kentucky last week, Bo Jackson has emerged as the clear leading candidate for Ohio State.

Jackson, a top-100 recruit in the 25-foot class, visited Columbus during spring ball and seemed to have liked what he saw from the new Buckeye running backs coach.

When Jackson spoke to Eleven Warriors at the Canton Under Armor Camp last week, he said this about his relationship with Locklyn:

β€œβ€œIt was really good, we probably talked every other day. It's a nice relationship at the moment. We're just talking casually and he wants to know what I'm up to.”

Jackson also said how excited he is to see the Buckeyes' new offense in action this fall, as new offensive coordinator Chip Kelly is expected to play the rock a lot this year. Jackson also said he hopes to make a decision this summer about where he wants to play college ball.

If that continues, the Buckeyes will be in a great position to prevail against teams like Tennessee, Georgia, Alabama and Michigan. He also plans to visit Columbus again sometime this summer before making his final decision.

The need to get one, if not two, top-tier tailbacks in the 2025 class is imperative. With Dallan Hayden heading to Boulder and TreVeyon Henderson and Quinton Judkins also expected to leave after next season, Ohio State will be pretty thin in the running backs room.

Hopefully Locklyn can get the deal done for the in-state product and prove to fans that he can recruit top talent from Ohio and keep them within his boundaries. Keep an eye on Scarlet and Game as we monitor Jackson's involvement.
