Quick reactions: Orlando City secures three big points in Philadelphia

1. Another wild away game for Orlando City SC in 2024 as the Lions cruised to a 3-2 win over Philadelphia Union on Saturday night. It is the second straight season the Lions have defeated their Eastern Conference opponents in Chester, Pennsylvania.

2. Welcome to the score sheet, Luis Muriel! The Designated Player forward opened his MLS account just before halftime with an absolute banger, a cathartic feeling for the striker and all Lions fans. He followed that goal with his second goal just 18 seconds into the second half after catching a perfect pass from Nico Lodeiro. This brace from Muriel is the fastest second-half goal in City's history.

3. Speaking of Nico Lodeiro, he assisted on every goal the Lions scored tonight, becoming just the third player in Lions history to record three assists in a game. The last player to achieve this was Yoshi Yotun in 2018 and Kaká before him. The midfield maestro now has five assists this season and leads the team.

4. Lodeiro's other assist came on the goal that Muriel didn't score. Duncan McGuire's fifth goal of the season was a ball header in the penalty area where he made a clever move to get in front of the defender and nod in Lodeiro's cross. Big Dunc has now scored in two away games, the last one being a game-winner in DC

5. The comeback kids: Orlando City has now scored eight points this season due to lost positions in the MLS, only the Lions' next opponent, Inter Miami CF, scored more. The club's last three positive results have been comebacks, with DC, Montreal and now Philly all coming from losing positions.

6. Speaking of three games: They were all on tour. There are still many more games on the schedule in 2024, but if the Lions can continue their winning streak on the road in Orlando, they can turn their early season woes into victories.

7. El Pulpo Redemption. After a slow start to his season, Pedro Gallese came up big for the Lions towards the end of the game. In addition to the penalty he saved from Daniel Gazdag, the goalkeeper had an outstanding performance towards the end of the game, especially in the 18 minutes of stoppage time after the 90th minute. With his performance he also celebrated his 50th victory as a Lion. A good leap in form for the Lions' number 1.

8. With all the good news, there is also some bad news. Robin Jansson had to be carried off the field with an apparent ankle injury, which would be a huge blow to the Lions' defense. The captain has been a star for Orlando since 2019 and has appeared in the most games in the team's history.

9. It's a quick turnaround for Orlando as the team will host a midweek match against Miami. Wednesday's game kicks off at 7:30 p.m. ET at INTER&Co Stadium.
