Ed Durr is endorsing Christine Serrano Glassner for U.S. Senate

Former state senator Ed “The Trucker” Durr (R-Logan), who will launch his run for governor tomorrow night, has endorsed Mendham Mayor Christine Serrano Glassner for the U.S. Senate.

His endorsement comes a day after former President Donald Trump announced his support for Serrano Glassner at a massive beach rally in Wildwood last night.

“I am proud to ring in this Mother’s Day by standing with President Trump and endorsing a mother and mayor for the U.S. Senate: Christine Serrano Glassner,” Durr said. The choice is clear: Christine is a pro-Trump mayor who is tough on crime and can win over cities that voted for Biden. She is tenacious, hardworking and I know she will make conservatives proud.”

One of his announced opponents, state Sen. Jon Bramnick (R-Westfield), an anti-Trump moderate, announced last September that he was supporting Serrano Glassner.

In a radio interview last November, Republican gubernatorial candidate Jack Ciattarelli also appeared to support her.

“We have a great candidate and that is Mendham County Mayor Christine Glassner and I support her,” Ciattarelli said.

But Ciattarelli, who supported Trump after Super Tuesday, has walked back that support and avoided taking sides since the interview.

Serrano Glassner faces Curtis Bashaw, a hotelier from Cape May, and two others in the Republican U.S. Senate primary.

Trump called Bashaw a “Christie person” at yesterday’s rally.

Rep. Thomas Kean Jr. (R-Westfield) was Serrano Glassner's first public supporter. Two other Republican congressmen from New Jersey, Jeff Van Drew (R-Dennis) and Christopher Smith (R-Manchester), did not take sides.
