CARBONDALE, Ill. – The Southern Illinois University men's golf team will head to its fourth NCAA Division I Championship tournament on Monday, May 12th. The West Lafayette Regional is hosted by Purdue University on the Kampen-Cosler Course at the Birck Boilermaker Golf Complex.

The field at the West Lafayette Regional will consist of 13 teams, with the top five finishers advancing to the finals May 24-29 in Carlsbad, California.

The following seeded teams will compete in the West Lafayette Regional:

  1. Vanderbilt
  2. Arizona
  3. Florida
  4. New Mexico
  5. Purdue
  6. San Diego State
  7. Mississippi State
  8. Indiana
  9. College of Charleston
  10. Stetson
  11. Colorado State
  12. Southern Illinois
  13. Tennessee Tech

The Salukis will send a five-member team, along with a single golfer, to the West Lafayette Regional. The lineup is presented Edouard Cereto, Leon Heitz, Dain Richie, Hugo ArcherAnd Andrew Thorntonwhile the individual golfer will be Oliver Ulrich.

Cereto will look to carry his strong play into the region after winning the MVC tournament with a score of 209 (-7) and a low score of 67 (-5) in the second round of the tournament.

As a team, the Salukis finished the MVC tournament with a score of 856 (-8). Southern Illinois was the only team to finish below par, while the next closest team finished the tournament with the same result.
