Auburn softball punches postseason ticket to Tallahassee Regional

AUBURN, Ala. – Late season scheduled for March 19thTh For the first time in program history, Auburn softball (27-19-1) punched its postseason ticket to the Tallahassee Regional from No. 13 Florida State will be hosted.

Auburn will face UCF on Friday, May 17th. First pitch is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. CT on ESPNU. The Knights posted an overall record of 30-23 and a 12-15 mark in their first season in Big 12 play.

Earn the 15thTh As the overall seed in the NCAA Tournament, the host Seminoles will face Chattanooga at 3:30 p.m. CT on the ACC Network. Chattanooga received automatic admission to the tournament after winning its 16th Southern Conference tournament title.

Game times and TV channels for the remainder of the round will be released along with ticket information at a later date.

“No matter who you face in the postseason, it will be a talented team,” said head coach Mickey Dean. “We have to show up and play clean softball. We've been there before. We know what to expect when it comes to the stadium and the crowd noise.”

Auburn is making its fourth appearance in the Tallahassee Regional and its first since 2021. It will be the third time in Dean's tenure that Auburn will begin the postseason in Tallahassee.

The winner of the Tallahassee Regional will face the winner of the Norman Regional, which includes Oklahoma, Oregon, Boston University and Cleveland State.
