  • The Indiana Fever (0-2) travel to New York to face the Liberty (2-0) for the second time in this young WNBA season
  • Caitlin Clark scored just nine points in her home debut for the Fever in a 102-66 loss to the Liberty on Thursday night
  • Read tips for Saturday afternoon's game and a Caitlin Clark prop below

It's Game 3 of the Caitlin Clark era in Indiana! The Fever didn't have a particularly good start to the season, losing both games and failing to find an equalizer in either game. After a 102-66 loss to the Liberty on Thursday night in Indianapolis, Clark and Co. travel to the Big Apple on Saturday afternoon to try to get their first win.

Saturday's tipoff begins at 1:00 p.m. ET and can be seen on ESPN.

Indiana Fever vs New York Liberty Picks

  • New York Liberty -13 (-110)
  • Caitlin Clark made over 3.5 3-point shots

The Liberty made it to the WNBA Finals last year for good reason. Breanna Stewart was the league's MVP and this team is now built to win. The Fever is an up-and-coming team, but they still need some time to develop. Expect the Liberty to pick up another convincing win over Indiana today.

But also watch for Clark to regain some confidence. Having seen this team now, they should be able to find ways to score. You can get their odds on 4+3 points at +100 at bet365, which is a good deal. It's too early in her young career for her to stop shooting. Her coach and teammates will work to make sure she looks good. She'll do a few more this afternoon.

At this point in the young season, the Fever is not about picking up wins. It's about getting Clark and Aliyah Boston moving in the right direction for the rest of the year.

Indiana Fever vs New York Liberty odds

As you can see above, the fever is already running high among the oddsmakers. They are 13 point underdogs for this afternoon's contest and a moneyline bet of +700. The Liberty, meanwhile, have a -1100 margin of victory. The over/under is 168.5, with odds of -110 on both sides.

Caitlin Clark slowly starts filming

Those who expected Clark to emerge in the WNBA and continue to put up the same numbers he did in Iowa were disappointed after two games.

In those two games, both losses for the Fever, Clark has 29 points on a combined 7-for-23 shooting (5-for-18 from 3-point range). She is a perfect 10-for-10 player from the free throw line, which has allowed her to at least put up decent numbers.

On defense, she has committed nine fouls in her two games, so she still has some work to do there, too.

But it's important to step back a bit. Yes, there was a lot of hype surrounding her joining the WNBA. But she has only played two games. It will take some time to get used to the professional ranks. Plus, the Fever picked first in this year's WNBA draft for good reason.

The Fever went 13-27 in 2023, finishing in last place in the Eastern Conference. They were the third-worst team in the league, ahead of only the Phoenix Mercury and Seattle Storm.

Basically the message is: stay calm. Clark will find her shooting talent in the professional ranks. Aliyah Boston, last year's No. 1 overall pick and the 2023 WNBA Rookie of the Year, is a worthy companion for Clark as she tries to bring the fever out of the basement.

The Fever may struggle again this year, but don't sell your long-term Clark shares.
