You don't have to be a restaurateur to know the names of the chefs who will be there this year Culinary classic from Mauna Lani. The highest honor goes to culinary pioneers who all have something in common: one or more James Beard Awards. Share food and cocktails with award-winning chefs like Nancy Silverton, beloved owner of Mozza Restaurant Group and best-selling author; Stephanie Izard, chef and owner of Girl & the Goat; and Andrew Zimmern, TV personality, chef, author and social justice advocate. In total there are 16 renowned culinary masters who will host 11 gourmet events during the four-day festival. This is a rare opportunity to share space with culinary stars who know how to create the perfect seaside bites. It all begins with a lu'au on the first evening and continues course by course under the stars to highlight the generosity Hawaii all weekend long.

​2 | Everything for a good cause: Māla`ai

This year Culinary classic from Mauna Laniyou will find yourself eating, drinking and exchanging ideas in intimate settings Hawaii on the resort grounds while honoring local traditions. The weekend is presented in collaboration with Māla`ai, the culinary garden school at Waimea Middle School. This garden is central to the community and offers after-school programs and summer internships that teach students and graduates life lessons through garden care. Chefs are welcome on Thursday, August 29th Mauna Lani with a tour of the Māla`ai Garden in preparation for the kick-off lu'au that will follow that evening. Guest chefs will team up with local chefs to showcase this Pa'ina Mauna Lani Lu'au, a kick-off event that will also include a silent auction to benefit the school garden. Last year's inaugural festival raised over $20,000 Māla`ai!
