Arizona football lands the commitment of JUCO receiver Jeremiah Patterson

The Arizona Wildcats just held a big recruiting weekend and invited several transfer players for official visits. On Sunday evening it was clear that these efforts were successful and culminated in numerous pledges from visitors.

One of the players who announced an FBS transfer was a junior college wide receiver Jeremiah Patterson.

Patterson, who comes from the College of San Mateo, is a perfect fit for the position following Kevin Green's departure to Washington. What's even better is that he will most likely slot in behind his CSM teammates Reymello Murphywho is also traveling to Tucson.

The 5-foot-10, 175-pound speedster finished his first JUCO season with 328 yards on 35 catches and 4 scores. Last year he increased his production significantly. He caught 55 passes for 790 yards and 11 touchdowns. Some of the telling stats between his two JUCO seasons are his average yards per game and average yards per catch. His yards per game increased from 29.8 in 2022 to 60.8 last year. His yards per catch were 9.4 his first year and 14.4 last season.

On the recruiting side, he is rated 2-star in the JUCO internal rankings of 247, with no composite rankings. He had 8 offers and chose the Wildcats over Eastern Michigan, UNLV, San Jose State, Georgia State and Missouri State, among others.

It is clear that the staff has a strong connection to the College of San Mateo. With Patterson's announcement, there were five new additions to CSM. The others are Murphy, defensive back Johno Price, edge Cyrus Durham and defensive back Demetrius Freeney (who was also signed on Sunday).
