The full closure of US 60 between Superior and Miami is scheduled for May 22nd.

Expect delays and plan a detour of at least an hour

SUPERIOR – The Arizona Department of Transportation is advising motorists to prepare for the total closure of U.S. Highway 60 between Superior and Miami, mileposts 227-243. from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m Wednesday, May 22ndfor blasting work related to the US 60, Queen Creek and Waterfall Canyon Bridges replacement project.

  • US 60 between Miami and Magma Mine Road, near milepost 231, remains open to local traffic only.

If necessary, US Highway 60 will be completely closed on Tuesdays, Wednesdays or Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. through November.

DETOUR: Eastbound US Highway 60 drivers use southbound State Route 177 via Winkleman to northbound SR 77. Westbound drivers of US Highway 60 use southbound SR 77 via Winkleman to northbound SR 177. Due to the length of this detour, approximately 75 miles, drivers may wish to remember to plan their trip before 9 a.m. and after 2 p.m

Drivers should plan for the following:

  • Lane restrictions and speed reductions in the work area.
  • A vehicle width limit of 12 feet will apply. Oversized loads can be accommodated with prior notice.
