“Tip-A-Cop” this week in Bangor to benefit the Special Olympics of Ma

Have you ever been served by a police officer? This week you have two chances!

This Wednesday, May 22nd and Friday, May 24th, Applebee's Grill & Bar, 718 Hogan Road in Bangor, will host a “Tip-A-Cop” event from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

The job of a police officer is to serve and protect. There will be plenty of service on Wednesday and Friday as local law enforcement do their best to be professional waiters.

Don't worry, there will be no Applebee's employees patrolling the streets of Bangor in patrol cars! The change upwards only occurs in one direction.

Everyone knows that working as a waiter in a restaurant is very hard. So it will definitely be fun to watch the officers wait tables and interact with customers. And of course the best part is that it's for a good cause.

Tips from this Tip-A Cop event benefit the amazing team at Special Olympics of Maine.

Special Olympics Maine is a year-round athletic training and competition program for adults and children with intellectual disabilities.

They serve more than 5,000 athletes and host over 75 events each year at the local, state, national and international levels. Check out their Facebook page for a list of upcoming summer events.

The more you eat, the more you can tip! So enjoy delicious steaks & ribs, chicken, seafood, pastas, burgers, salads, sides and more from Applebee's menu

If you're not in the Bangor area this week, there are other events happening across the state:
