ESPN: Top candidate from around the world commits to Illinois

This could be Illinois' best signing of the season.

According to ESPN's Jonathan Givony, promising international talent Kasparas Jakucionis joined the Illini on Tuesday.

The 6'6″ point guard from Lithuania is a potential first-round pick in next year's NBA draft, according to Givony.

ESPN reports that Jakucionis made his professional debut at age 16 and was named to the NBA's Basketball Without Borders Camp All-Star team in January. He averaged 17.7 points, 6 rebounds, 5.2 assists and 37% three-point shooting in 34 games (at various levels) last season.

Honestly, this is an amazing team now. I don't know how it came about, but there is so much talent on board, with the great Tomislav Ivisic, Mr. Illinois Basketball Morez Johnson and a number of other transfers.

Ty Rodgers & DGL, are you ready for your new team?
