A global gym “with a cult-like following” is opening in downtown Charleston.

Barry's is making its South Carolina debut at Morrison Yard, according to a press release. The groundbreaking HIIT studio, known for its high-energy cardio and strength interval training, is slated to open with more than 86 studios in 14 countries by the end of 2024.

With its RUN x LIFT classes, which combine high-intensity cardio on the treadmill with strength training, Barry's brings a group fitness experience to Charleston that has been called “the best workout in the world” since its launch 25 years ago, the press release said.

Hill Partners Inc., a Charlotte-based commercial real estate developer that manages retail leasing for Morrison Yard, partnered with Barry's on leasing its 4,000-square-foot studio space, the news release said.
