Tallahassee Takko Seoul Good Market Square location closed

As local foodies mourn the closure of a handful of beloved restaurants across the city, another eatery is now adding to their grief with the news that Takko Korean Taqueria in Market Square is closing for good.

The announcement was made on Tuesday, May 28, in a post on the Takko-Market Square Facebook page, which read, “Thank you for your loyalty, Tallahassee! Unfortunately, we have had to make the difficult decision to permanently close our Market Square location.”

Regulars of the restaurant reacted in the comments with sadness, but also with bittersweet relief, knowing that there is still a location.

One fan commented, “I'm glad it's only one location, even if it's a shame it had to close – if Tallahassee takes away Takko completely, I'll throw chairs.”

Tomas Lee's Korean-inspired casual dining restaurant is known for many of Chef Lee's specialties, including the Fried Chicken Taco – a combination of double-fried boneless chicken, chipotle aioli sauce, jack cheese and soy sesame salad – which was also featured in Good Morning America's “United States of Taco” contest last fall.

The restaurant chain will maintain its Magnolia Grove location on South Magnolia Drive, which is also home to other casual dining establishments such as Blaze Pizza, Mission BBQ and Which Wich.
