Ryan Smith from Utah on the Pat McAfee Show: Mammoth and Yeti are top names for new hockey team

Utah's Ryan Smith appeared on the popular Pat McAfee Show today and hinted at some of the names that are in the top four in the fan vote for Utah's NHL franchise.

Pat asked Ryan Smith during a Facetime call, “What name is the early favorite?” Smith quickly and eagerly responded, “I think our four, we have our four, I think Mammoth is at the top, Yeti is at the top, it should be good.”

The Smith Entertainment Group fan vote began on May 22nd.

This was not the first time Smith revealed information on the Pat McAfee Show. Smith was in the show a month ago in which he revealed “We're making a bracket.” The bracket will determine the name of Utah's first NHL franchise. “We'll take it from about eight down and the fans will vote on it,” Smith said.

“Utah's NHL team is a community asset and we want to ensure the community has a say in the naming process,” said Ryan Smith, chairman of the SEG and governor of Utah's NHL team, in a statement a few weeks ago. “Utah has championed this team from the moment the NHL awarded us the franchise less than three weeks ago and it is only fitting that our fans have the rare opportunity to have a say in the naming of the team they will cheer for.”
