Obituary for Robert Smith – Hamilton, NJ

Robert F. “Bob” Smith, Sr. HAMILTON – Robert F. “Bob” Smith, Sr., 81, of Hamilton passed away peacefully Monday. He was born in Trenton and was a lifelong resident of Trenton/Hamilton. Bob was a maintenance mechanic for Congoleum before retiring in 1994 after over 37 years of service. He was also employed by the First Student Bus Company, where he retired after 10 years. He is son of the late Miriam and William E. Smith, Sr., husband of the late Sheila A. Smith, and brother of the late Ken, Lester and Charlotte. He is survived by 6 children: Robert F. (Brenda) Smith, Jr. of Bloomsburg, PA, Michael I. (Rhonda) Smith of Jacksonville, FL, Terese (Chris) Ingenbrandt of Yardville, William E. (Barbara) Smith of Trenton, Mariann L. (Douglas) McIntyre of Hamitlon and Sandra (James) Abbott of Trenton; 16 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; 5 brothers, James, William, Jr., Tom, John and Frank; 2 sisters, Norma and Betty; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Monday from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the M. William Murphy Funeral Home, 1863 Hamilton Ave., Hamilton. Funeral services will begin at 11:30 a.m. Burial with military honors will be in Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery, Arneytown, NJ.
