Horror: 13-year-old girl dies days after being found unconscious in the pool of a popular Orlando theme park

A 13-year-old girl died Thursday, just days after she was found unconscious at Discovery Cove theme park.

Teenager Anne Beaumont was found unconscious around 11:25 a.m. Tuesday after Orange County Sheriff's Office officers rushed to the theme park, a sister park of SeaWorld, in Orlando, Florida.

Beaumont was taken to a local hospital in critical condition and was pronounced dead two days later, according to officials.

In a statement, the medical examiner said the cause of death was “an accidental drowning.” No further details were released.

On Thursday, officials announced that the teenager had died in hospital. A coroner said her cause of death was accidental drowning.

In response to the incident, Discovery Cove told WKMG, “Our staff responded to an emergency yesterday involving a guest. Our team rendered assistance and contacted Orange County Fire and Emergency Services.”

“When emergency personnel arrived, they took over care and transported the guest to a nearby hospital. Out of respect for the privacy of our guests, we do not share health information. Our thoughts are with this family.”

The Orange County Sheriff's Office is investigating the tragedy.

The all-inclusive day resort, which is the sister park to SeaWorld Orlando, offers guests experiences such as swimming with dolphins and snorkeling with tropical fish, its website says.
