Kickoff times announced for two more football games in South Carolina

Kickoff times for two more early South Carolina football games, including the Gamecocks' season opener against Old Dominion, were announced Thursday afternoon.

South Carolina will open its season against the Monarchs on August 31 at 4:15 p.m. The game will be broadcast on the SEC Network at Williams-Brice Stadium. The non-conference game will be the first between the Gamecocks and the Monarchs, who compete in Conference USA.

The Gamecocks host LSU in Week 3 with kickoff at noon on ABC on Sept. 14.

The Tigers have won 19 of the last 22 meetings between the two teams, including the last seven in a row. South Carolina's last victory over the Bayou Bengals came in 1994 in Baton Rouge, while Columbia's only victory came in the first-ever meeting between the two schools in 1930.

South Carolina's Week 2 game at Kentucky, scheduled for September 7, was previously announced on ABC with kickoff at 3:30 p.m.

The Gamecocks lead the all-time series over the Wildcats by a margin of 20-14-1, including a 10-8 edge when the game has been played in the Blue Grass State. South Carolina has won each of the last two games, a 24-14 victory in 2022 when the two teams last met in Kentucky and a 17-14 triumph last year when the teams met in Columbia.
