Obituary for Alfred Prentice – FL

PRENTICE, ALFRED RICHARD, 35, of Orlando, FL, formerly of East Worcester, NY, died at his home on Tuesday, February 4, 2003, after a valiant battle with lymph cancer. He was born May 27, 1967, in Cobleskill, NY, to Charles and Betty (Hagadorn) Prentice, Sr. He graduated from Worcester Central School in 1985 and then attended SUNY Cobleskill and SUNY Brockport where he studied business administration. Shortly thereafter, in 1993, he and a group of friends moved to Orlando. While in Florida, he worked as a waiter at Angel's and Denny's. His hobbies included his love and care for his many beautiful flower gardens, his collection of birdhouses and his art of beautifying old furniture. He is survived by his parents, Charles and Betty Prentice, Sr., of East Worcester; a brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Trace Prentice, Jr., of Riverside, CA, and their daughters Bronwyn and Payton; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Vicky and David May of Charlotte, NC, Laurie and Terry Smith of Binghamton, NY, and Tammy and Kenneth Keever of East Worcester, and their sons Nicholas, Alexander, and Zackary; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He also leaves behind many, many close, wonderful friends in the area and in Orlando, including his lifelong childhood best friend, Cheryl Marsh, and her son Joey. Following cremation, a memorial service will be held on Tuesday, February 11th, at 7:00 p.m. at the Starlite Ranch Clubhouse, 6000 E. Pershing Ave., Orlando. A memorial service will be held in New York at a later date at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in the spring at East Worcester Cemetery.
