Obituary for Carolyn Kuhlman – Freehold Twp., PA

Carolyn Kuhlman, 76, entered eternal life on June 26, 2023, after a long and brave battle with dementia and cancer. Born in Brooklyn, NY, Carolyn was raised in East Brunswick, NJ from age 13 before meeting and marrying the love of her life and moving to Yardley, PA in 1968, where she raised her daughters and spent the rest of her life. A model citizen, Carolyn volunteered her time as a long-time member of the Yardley Coterie and the Welcome Wagon. A devout Catholic, Carolyn dedicated her working years to helping others and served as an employee of the Catholic Charities Diocese of Trenton, NJ for more than 30 years. After retiring in 2016, Carolyn enjoyed traveling and spending as much time as possible with her only grandchild, Kaitlyn. She was known for her love of God and country and her unwavering support of our military. Most of all, she will be remembered for her kindness, caring nature, and boundless love of family. Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Gustav R. Kuhlman, Jr. She is survived by her beloved children, Kendra Marshall and her husband Christopher Marshall of Huntingdon Valley, PA, and Meredith McCarthy and her husband Colonel Todd McCarthy (USMC), and her granddaughter Kaitlyn McCarthy of East Greenville, PA, and her sister Joann Gootee and her husband Tony Gootee of FL. Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, July 13, 2023, at 12 noon at St. Ignatius Catholic Church, 999 Reading Ave., Yardley, PA 19067. Visitation hours at the church will be from 11:00 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. Burial will be at 1:30 p.m. at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, 830 Highland Rd, Newtown, PA 18940. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Carolyn's name to Catholic Charities Diocese of Trenton. Condolences may be left for the family at
