Dorothy I. Godshall, 85, of Chandler Estates, Plainfield Township, formerly of Pen Argyl, died Tuesday, May 26, 2009, at the VNA/Hospice House, East Stroudsburg. She was born October 9, 1923, in Schuylkill Haven, Pennsylvania, to the late William and Mary Ellen Roberts Bayliff. Dorothy was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Pen Argyl, where she sang in the choir, was a member of Sunday school, and served on various committees. She was also a member of the Blue Valley Garden Club. She was the wife of the late E. David Godshall, who died June 29, 1985. Dorothy enjoyed sewing quilts and gardening. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, William, Jack and Harold Bayliff, and two sisters, Ruth Winters and Sissy Bayliff. Survivors: Four daughters, Judith A. Jones and her husband Thomas of Allentown, Jane E. McCahill and her fiancé Mario of Oakhurst, NJ, Ruth A. Odenwelder and her husband Thomas of Saylorsburg and Carol L. Turpin of Glendale, Ariz.; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and a brother, Walter Bayliff of Pottsville. Funeral Services: Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 29, 2009, at the Guerro & Ruggiero Funeral Home, 126 E. Pennsylvania Ave., Pen Argyl. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery, Pen Argyl.
