#4 Bangor beats #8 Brewer 7-3 in Northern Maine Class A semifinals

The No. 4 Bangor Rams will play in the Northern Maine Class A Championship Game after defeating No. 8 Brewer 7-3 on Saturday night, June 8, at Mansfield Stadium in Bangor. The game was broadcast on Ticket TV.

Brewer took an early 2-0 lead after scoring two runs in the 2nd inning. Brewer was up 3-1 at the end of the 3rd inning. Bangor scored 4 runs in the 4th inning and 2 more in the 6th inning, leading to a 7-3 victory.

Brewer beat Bangor 11-7.

Kaiden Morin was 2-4 for the Witches with a double. Jake Perry, Hunter Merrithew and Nick Tozier each had 2 hits. Grady Vanidestine, Logan Littlefield and Anderson Clifford each had a single for the Witches.

Morin started on the mound for Brewer. He pitched 3.0 innings, allowed 1 hit and 1 run, made 4 strikeouts and 7 walks. Zach Arnold came in and pitched 2.0 innings, allowed 5 hits and 5 runs, 4 of which were earned. He made 2 strikeouts and 1 walk. Aiden McCue pitched the 6th inning, allowed 1 hit and 1 run, and made 1 walk.

For Bangor, Mathieu Turcotte started on the mound and played 2.2 innings, allowing 6 hits and 3 runs, 2 of which were earned. He managed 2 strikeouts and 2 walks. Teddy Stephenson came in as a reliever and got the win. He played 4.1 innings, allowing 5 hits, managing 8 strikeouts and 1 walk.

Jack Schuck and Kyle Johnson each had a double for Bangor, scoring a run. Ethan Sproul had a single, scoring two runs. Yates Emerson, Scott Sockabasin, Stephenson and Jack Earl each had a single.

Brewers season ends with a record of 8-10.

Bangor will play #2 Messalonskee in the Northern Maine Class A Championship Game after the Eagles defeated #3 Skowhegan 6-6 on Saturday. The game will be played Tuesday, June 11, at Morton Field in Augusta.
