Caitlin Clark, Indiana Fever vs. Connecticut Sun WNBA Best Bets, Odds & Predictions for Monday, June 10

Caitlin Clark, Indiana Fever vs. Connecticut Sun

We begin a new week in the WNBA with just one game as Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever face the Connecticut Sun on Monday night in Connecticut, where the Sun are 10.5-point favorites with an over/under of 159.5.

My predictions have the Sun as a 21-point favorite (!!) with a total score of 158.5. The range fluctuates a bit, but we're saying Sun -10.5 and that's a bet for me based on the season's data and my totals.

Selection: Sun -10.5

Caitlin Clark Player Props

Since this is a standalone game, I wanted to dig a little deeper than just the team and overall standings, look at Caitlin Clark's player ratings for this game and give my thoughts on them and the predictions that exist (TSI doesn't do player predictions).

Points: Over/Under 19.5 (-115/-115)

Clark is averaging 16.8 points per game this year and faces the best defensive team in the league according to TSI, the Sun. I think that prediction is overblown, as Caitlin had a tremendous performance in her last game against the underpowered Washington Mystics (spoiler: the Sun are NOT the Mystics).

I would tend towards “under” here.

3:00 p.m.: Over/Under 2.5 (-145/+110)

Clark averages 2.8 three-pointers per game, so this rate is pretty much right. She makes almost 9 per game, so it seems reasonable that she only needs to make 33% of her shots from the field to make money, but that's factored into the -145 rate. At current rates, I'd probably skip it.

Rebounds: Over/Under 5.5 (+100/-130)

Again, that's right in line with Clark's season average of 5.3. One important factor to keep in mind in this matchup is that Dijonai Carrington, Clark's presumed primary defender, has great size and athleticism to match up with DeWanna Bonner, Alyssa Thomas and Brionna Jones on the interior. I'm not sure how many rebounds will elude that size, not to mention Clark's teammate Aliyah Boston. Again, I'd stay away.

Assists: Over/Under 6.5 (-110/-120)

Clark averages 6.3 assists per game, but I'd love to see what that number would be if her teammates were just making a reasonable number of the layups she sets up for them. As a fan of the sport, that was incredibly frustrating. The combination of her teammates' inconsistency and the Sun's defensive prowess has me leaning toward the under here.

PRA: Over/Under 31.5 (-105/-130)

Clark's average of 28.4 PRA is well under that limit, even though it's jacked up to under. For all the reasons stated above, that would be under or nothing for me.
