Carrie Underwood falls from stage at rainy concert in South Carolina

Carrie Underwood didn't let a small mishap on stage spoil her show at the Carolina Country Music Fest this weekend.

The 41-year-old “Blown Away” singer headlined the rain-canceled Myrtle Beach music festival on Sunday, June 9, which she said came to a “pretty unexpected” end.

According to video footage from TMZUnderwood took an unfortunate fall as she was leaving the back of the stage, as she appeared to lose her footing while descending a flight of stairs. Some fans even noticed the moment, as they could be heard screaming, “She fell!”

The Continue playing However, the artist did not let the fall or the sudden downpour spoil her fun and finished her performance despite the heavy storm. “We won't let a little rain stop us! And we won't let a massive downpour stop us either!” Underwood captioned an Instagram video in which she belted out songs before her fall in the pouring rain.

In another post, she seemed to be in good spirits after the rainy South Carolina performance and her slip-up, writing, “So last night was really fun! And even though the ending was pretty unexpected, it was a night we'll never forget! 🌧️💧☔️ Thanks for being so amazing, #MyrtleBeach!!!”

Underwood had an even worse fall on the steps of her Nashville home in 2017, resulting in a broken wrist that required surgery and numerous cuts to her face that required over 40 stitches.

The American Idol Alum spoke about the accident during a 2018 appearance on iHeartRadio The Bobby Bones Showand revealed that the fall happened one night when she went for a quick walk with her dogs. “I took the dogs out one last time to pee and I just – I tripped,” she explained. “There was a step and I didn't let go of the leashes! Priorities! That's why my left hand is fine. But I tried to catch myself and just missed a step.”

Underwood added: “If I had fallen anywhere else, I would have been fine. But it was a step that messed everything up.”

The Grammy winner also spoke to Storme Warren on SiriusXM's The Highway channel about the fall, recalling: “I thought I had just broken my lip. Then I went inside, took the dog leashes off, took off my coat and went to look at the damage and I was like, 'Oh no!'”

“I'm taking it easy now, but… it wasn't pretty,” she added. “I broke a tooth, but thank God it was just my skin. Stitches and all that stuff.”
