4 players the Orlando Magic could consider in transfer talks this summer

With two games of the NBA Finals already played, the season is officially coming to an end and the offseason is upon us. For the Magic and their fans, free agency and transfer season couldn't come sooner. There's a lot to do.

The team desperately needs more shooters and a playmaker for the point guard position. In addition, contract extension talks are pending with Jalen Suggs and Franz Wagner. This summer will not be a relaxing one for the Magic's front office.

While free agents are likely the preferred option for the team to sign talent, they may also need to make some moves on the transfer market. After all, starting-level talent isn't always easy to find.

So let's take a look at four players the Magic could consider in transfer talks this summer.

This season, Cole Anthony was the Magic's sixth man, coming off the bench for the second consecutive season. He was even considered for Sixth Man of the Year honors earlier this year, but finished the season with career lows in all areas.

Anthony also failed to make a real contribution in the playoffs, so it seems like the Magic could benefit from some reinforcements—preferably someone with a better long-range shot than Anthony currently has.

If the Magic are looking to trade this summer, Anthony could be a possible trade item. He's one of the few players on the roster who will make more than $10 million next season, making him a trade item from a salary perspective. Plus, he has two years plus a team option left on his contract, so he could be more than just a loan for any Magic transfer partner.

At the same time, his difficulties in the playoffs and the lack of a reliable three-point shot do not make him the most sought-after transfer candidate on the market.
