Third National Peace Symposium held in Georgia

Jamaat-e-Ahmadiyya Georgia hosted its 3rdrd National Peace Symposium in Tbilisi, Georgia, on May 19, 2024. The theme of this year's symposium was “Voices for Peace – Building Sustainable Peace”.

Speakers included Ms. Mariam Gavtadze (Board Member of the Tolerance & Diversity Institute), Mr. Beka Mindiashvili (Director of the Tolerance Center), Mr. Malkhaz Songhulashvili (Evangelical Baptist Church of Georgia) and Mr. Rolf Bareis (Bishop of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Georgia).

The event began with a recitation from the Holy Quran in English and Georgian translation, followed by an introduction to the Jamaat’s contribution to peace.

After the speech of Mr. Malkhaz Songhulashvili, the President and Missionary of Jamaat-e-Ahmadiyya Georgia, Jawad Ahmed Butt Sahib, delivered a speech. In addition, the guests were shown a video about the global peace efforts of Hazrat Khalifatul Masih V.a.

At the end, the audience was also given the opportunity to give feedback or comments on how to contribute to world peace. The audience also expressed positive comments on this and the organization of the event in general. Each audience member also received a gift: the Georgian translation of the keynote speech of Hazrat Khalifatul Masih V.a at the National Peace Symposium UK 2024.

A total of 65 guests attended the symposium. The event was the venue for a Islam exhibition with information on various topics related to the teachings of Islam. The symposium ended with a silent prayer, followed by dinner.
