Indigo Cars aims to be one of the top three car importers in Georgia by 2024 – FINCHANNEL

The Georgian branch of Indigo Cars, a professional car delivery service from the USA with five years of experience in logistics management, aims to become one of the three largest car importers in the country this year, managing partners of the company told Golden Brand.

The company's managing director, Zaza Shubitidze, said Indigo Cars' future plans include expanding warehouse space at the company's headquarters in America and opening several new branches in Georgia.

“Indigo Cars is a fast-growing company and we plan to expand our work team to accommodate this growth. We currently employ more than 50 people and expect this number to double by the end of 2024,” said Shubitidze.

“In the future, we want to actively participate in social activities and projects, as we are aware of the negative impact of the automotive industry on the environment. We want to take social responsibility as a company and contribute to the protection and preservation of the environment. We believe that this industry is promising and offers opportunities for young people. That is why we want to develop it further and attract more trained specialists to Georgia,” he added.

Q. Indigo Cars has won the Golden Brand Award in the Most Popular Car Importer category. What do you think has led the company to this recognition?

A. We are proud that our company has been recognized for its outstanding performance. We believe that this recognition is the result of the dedicated and selfless work of our employees, who have always shown enthusiasm and determination.

Indigo Car has been licensed as an authorized dealer in the United States for over 25 years. We own our own warehouse space and specialize in the safe and guaranteed export of cars and auto parts to Georgia. We have been operating in Georgia for five years, with a Georgian office and a Georgian team. During this time, we have successfully transported many vehicles to our customers.

We believe the main reason for our success in this category is the extensive experience and exclusive services that Indigo Cars has acquired in America, which we have brought to Georgia and continued to operate according to American standards. We have also continued to train our team members to ensure that they provide the same quality service that our customers expect from us.

Q. How did Indigo Cars grow from a small company to a market leader?

A. The company was small at the beginning, but had high ambitions and a positive attitude. Despite strong competition, we managed to gain a considerable market share in the first few years.

Indigo Cars has a strong connection with America and we are committed to replicating our business principles in Georgia. Our company is built on trust and transparency and our goal is to become one of the top three car importers in Georgia this year. Although this is an ambitious goal, we are ready to put in the work and effort necessary to achieve it. We are committed to progress and development.

Although our company is relatively young, it is growing and developing rapidly. In 2023, we opened new offices in Gori, Kutaisi and Batumi, which helped us expand our reach. This allowed us to hire more employees and significantly increase our team. Our campaigns and activities in 2023 helped us draw more attention to Indigo Cars, which in turn led to an increase in the number of customers.

Q. It would be interesting to hear your assessment of the Georgian market based on your experience. How favorable is the business environment for car importers in the country and what useful regulations has the government adopted?

A. Car import in Georgia is increasing, making the country a center for trade and re-export of used cars. As a result, the number of car import companies in the market is also increasing. Light vehicles are the most traded commodity group in Georgia. Despite the pandemic, the auto industry in Georgia recorded a record year in 2023.

Georgia plays a significant role in the development of this industry as a transit country. Around 75% of cars delivered to Georgia are exported. The automotive industry is a major contributor to job creation in the country. Many professions are involved in importing a car, and each car goes through a production cycle before it reaches the customer. Therefore, it is crucial for the state to get involved and promote the automotive industry while implementing appropriate regulations.

Q: What challenges does Indigo Cars face?

A. Due to the current events in the country, Indigo Cars is facing challenges in importing vehicles into Ukraine. This is a significant obstacle for the company, which operates in several countries, including Georgia, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan. It is worth noting that the difficulties in importing cars into Ukraine are affecting the overall operations of Indigo Cars.

Q. You advertise Indigo Car with this message: “Are you looking for a new car with a clean history?” – what do you mean by that?

A. At Indigo Cars, we pride ourselves on offering our customers cars with clean histories. Often, the cars offered at auctions are damaged and fall into the used car category. However, when communicating with our customers, our sales managers carefully select vehicles with minimal damage and defects. We then take care of and repair any major damage and provide safe, guaranteed transportation. Our main message to customers is that they can find and buy all types of cars from us, including new ones with clean histories.

Q. Which car models are most in demand among your customers?

A. As I mentioned earlier, almost 75% of cars imported into Georgia are subsequently exported. Exports are mainly to five different countries, which influences the behavior of Georgian car dealers in choosing which cars to import. Despite the rapid changes in regulations, market demands and trends, Georgian car dealers are able to adapt quickly and offer relevant choices to consumers. The most popular car brands in Georgia are Toyota, BMW, Mercedes, Ford, Honda and Hyundai.

Q. How many cars did Indigo Cars import in 2023?

A. Last year, over 10,000 cars were imported from America to Georgia. The market recorded a growth of 42% last year, while our growth reached almost 80%. We plan to achieve a growth rate at least twice that of car imports to Georgia. Our American vision, experienced team of professionals and expertise give us the confidence to implement this ambitious plan.

Q. What advantages makes Indigo Cars an outstanding company in this space?

A. Indigo Cars is proud to offer several benefits to its customers. We have storage areas in the USA where the purchased car is subjected to a detailed inspection and professionally packed using special material to avoid any damage during transit. After packing, the cars and car parts are transported from the storage area to the specified destination within the given time frame.

Customers can track the location of their car and the journey to Poti port. The transportation services organized and carried out by Indigo Cars are safe and reliable, as confirmed by numerous satisfied customers and licensed carriers. We use high-quality clamps and vehicles to ensure safe transportation of the vehicles.

In addition, we offer co-financing services to prospective and loyal customers, giving them more opportunities to purchase the car or car parts they want at the price and terms they want. We also have several offices throughout Georgia where customers can get advice and choose and purchase a car.

At Indigo Cars, we always strive to provide excellent services, reasonable prices and organized service to our customers.
