NC Revenue Department HR director out after man with same name arrested in LA

The Human Resources Director for the North Carolina Department of Revenue, Harlan Frye, is no longer employed by the agency as of June 10, WRAL Investigates has learned, after multiple people contacted the station.

This happened one day after authorities in Long Beach, California arrested a man named Harlan Frye with a Greensboro address on a felony charge of “Arranging a Meeting with a Child for Lewd Purposes.”

That person was booked into Los Angeles County jail around 9 p.m. on Sunday, June 9 and released Thursday, June 13, according to online records.

The North Carolina Department of Revenue confirmed that Frye was employed as the HR Director from April 4, 2022, until June 10, 2024.

WRAL has contacted Frye and the Department of Revenue for further comments and clarification on the matter.

As of now, there has been no response from either party.
