Big recruiting weekend on June 21 for the Florida State Seminoles

Florida State football fans know the importance of having top-notch defensive linemen, and the program has seen contributors like Jared Verse, Fabien Lovett Sr. and Braden Fiske move on to the NFL.

Like any college football program, they need to rebuild and fill in the depth they lack. While Florida State is a transfer target for defensive ends, the Seminoles are looking to add some talented players to the recruiting ranks after this weekend.

The Seminoles will host players such as four-star defensive end Javion Hilson (FSU commitment), four-star defensive end Jalen Wiggins (UF commitment), four-star defensive tackle Myron Charles and four-star defensive tackle Kevin Wynn.

While Hilson has chosen Florida State, other schools such as Texas, Alabama and UCF have also been in the running to sign him. At this point, I am convinced that Florida State will keep him in the class. The Seminoles need to add at least three defensive linemen to the class.

Two candidates I would keep an eye on for this weekend's attendance list would be Wiggins and Charles. Although Wiggins is committed to the archrival Florida Gators, he is from the Tallahassee area and has visited campus several times. Plus, the Gators could be in big trouble with their difficult schedule in 2024.

As for Charles, he has been leaning toward Florida State for some time. It looks like defensive tackles coach Odell Haggins has found a young player he feels comfortable with. The Floridian native could be a cornerstone on the Seminoles' defensive line.
