ABC have had a glittering career to date. They are one of several groups who ushered in a “new decade” in the 80s with their own brand of pop. When it was released in May 1982, their debut album THE LEXICON OF LOVE immediately shot to number one in the UK album charts. Featuring the soulful voice of lead singer Martin Fry on hits such as “Poison Arrow” and “The Look Of Love” and produced by the legendary Trevor Horn, it was voted by many as the best British album of the decade. More hits followed with subsequent albums, including “How To Be A Millionaire”, “Be Near Me” and “When Smokey Sings”. ABC has released nine albums to date and sold over 20 million albums worldwide; their live shows continue to delight audiences around the world.

Haircut 100 released PELICAN WEST in 1982 to worldwide acclaim. This popular LP included their trademark “Favourite Shirts (Boy Meets Girl)”, “Love Plus One” and “Fantastic Day”, all UK top ten singles in the 1982-83 season. They soon added a fourth, “Nobody's Fool”, and by this time PELICAN WEST had already gone platinum in the UK, just three months after release. The album spent 11 consecutive weeks in the UK top ten, reaching number 2 twice. It also charted in the US, Australia and beyond, after which frontman Nick Heyward left the band to embark on a successful solo career. Heyward's solo efforts included another top ten title, his debut solo album NORTH OF A MIRACLE, in a collection of nine LPs under his own name to date.
