Avangrid companies in New York and Maine receive two Emergency Response Awards

The awards recognize the outstanding performance of Avangrid Companies Electricity and gas in New York State (NYSEG) and Rochester Gas and Electric (RG&E) And Power from Central Maine (CMP) during recovery and restoration efforts following last year's winter storms.

The Emergency Response Awards are presented to EEI member companies twice a year and recognize the reconstruction and relief efforts of electric companies following service interruptions caused by extreme weather or other natural events. Following an international nomination process, EEI announced Avangrid Companies as recipients during the EEI 2024.

NYSEG and RG&E were honored for their response to Winter Storm Finn, which The State of New York In January 2024. CMP was honored for its response to a strong wind and rain storm on December 18, 2023This extreme storm prompted CMP to launch the largest restoration effort in the company's history after 400,000 of its customers were without power during the duration of this weather event. The company eventually restored power on Christmas Eve.
