Abby Walton

Abby Walton joined WCTV in June 2014 as the 5:30pm and 11pm anchor/reporter. She also anchors FOX 49's 10pm news. Prior to WCTV, Abby spent six years at WTHI, the CBS/FOX affiliate station in Terre Haute, Indiana. There she hosted the region's most successful morning and midday show. She also produced the midday show and was a reporter.

Abby was born and raised in the Hoosier State and attended Ball State University where she earned a degree in telecommunications communications. She is still very active in the department as a member of the BSU TCOM Alumni Board.

Abby is very interested in being part of the community. During her time in Terre Haute, Abby has been involved in many organizations, but the one that is closest to her heart is Autism Speaks. For her coverage of autism spectrum disorders, Abby was awarded the Best News Series award by the Associated Press of Indiana and is also the recipient of the prestigious Gracie Award, a national honor from the Alliance for Women in Media.

When she's not in the newsroom, Abby enjoys working out, whether it's Pilates, spin, or anything else that challenges her. Abby calls herself a news nerd and enjoys reading nonfiction books and her magazines TIME and O! She also loves TV, movies, and music. Her secret vice is reality TV on E! or Bravo. She also enjoys traveling and spending time with her family and friends!

Abby is so excited to be a part of the WCTV family and is enjoying exploring her new home. She's from Indiana, loves college football, and can't wait to watch her first Florida State game! She's also excited about the North Florida weather and being able to go to the beach! If you see Abby out and about, don't hesitate to stop and say hi.
