Maine’s housing stock is back to 2020 levels

After years of record low supply, Maine's housing inventory is recovering.

According to Maine's Multiple Listing Service, active single-family home inventory statewide is 74 percent higher than it was during the same period last year. Across all housing types, inventory, or homes on the market, is back to 2020 levels, although supply still pales in comparison to pre-pandemic levels.

“This is the beginning of a potential shift,” said Brit Vitalius, CEO and owner of Portland-based Vitalius Real Estate Group. “The market has opened up a little bit.”
