“WyoFile is an independent, member-supported, nonprofit news service covering the people, places and politics of Wyoming. The organization was founded in 2009 as a Wyoming 501(c)3 nonprofit organization and is a member of the Institute for NonProfit News.”

WyoFile explains its commitment to DEIJ on its website.

“The news industry has long been run by a privileged subset of the population, and the bias and systemic racism that reporters chronicle in their stories are often present in journalism itself.”

WyoFile partners with States Newsroom. Idaho Dispatch's coverage of States Newsroom can be found here.

Wayne Hughes Jr. Hughes Jr. founded American Commercial Equities and lives in California. He donated $500,000 to Donald Trump's 2020 presidential campaign.

According to this source, the Cowboy State Daily is “leaning to the right.”

“But our analysis also found numerous instances in which Cowboy State Daily’s coverage of trans communities used tropes that the Trans Journalists Association’s style guide says perpetuate “harmful cliches and stereotypes.” These included [the words] “Groom” (seven articles), “detransition” (seven) and “biologically male/female” (forty).”

This article from the Columbia Journalism Review states that “the Cowboy State Daily far exceeds that of Wyofile in terms of publication volume.”
