EAST ST. LOUIS – The Illinois Department of Transportation, in collaboration with U.S. Rep. Nikki Budzinski (D-13), will sponsor a career fair on May 23 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Southern Illinois University Edwardsville East St. Louis Center in Building D, 601 James R. Thompson Blvd. in East St. Louis.

Representatives from IDOT offices and offices responsible for both technical and administrative support are available to discuss current and upcoming employment opportunities at the various IDOT locations.

Participants can learn how to apply for government jobs. Central Management Services partners are available to explain the application process. Staff will be present at the Illinois Secretary of State's Office to answer questions about obtaining a commercial driver's license for positions that require one. The Illinois Department of Veterans Affairs is also available to provide guidance on programs and services to qualified veterans.

While a limited number of computers are available for registration in the state's electronic application system, participants are asked to bring their own laptop.

The event is free and open to the public. Registration is recommended, but not required.
