A&M-Central Texas President Richard Rhodes praised the collaborative efforts of faculty and staff across campus and noted that Clifton Jones, assistant vice president for enrollment management and university relations, has implemented Transfer Central, a system designed to simplify the process of applying, advising and enrolling community college students by leveraging important resources such as veterans services and financial aid.

“Whenever this kind of growth is achieved, it is always a community effort,” Rhodes said, adding that one of the reasons so many A&M-Central Texas students are successful is the quality of the staff involved in student enrollment and retention.

“Our advisors and staff are among the best anywhere and are committed to providing comprehensive support to both new and returning students.”

Since 2009, almost 11,000 bachelor’s and master’s degrees have been awarded.

“Our faculty and staff pride themselves on their active involvement in outreach efforts, and they continue to maintain close academic relationships with their students through individualized mentoring, community service and ongoing encouragement,” Rhodes said.

Designed as a unique public university with a deliberate focus on accessibility and affordability, A&M-Central Texas eliminates complex admissions barriers and requires only that students have completed at least 30 hours of college or university coursework and maintain a 2.0 grade point average for undergraduate admission.

Many of the universities' graduate programs also practice flexible admissions, including conditional and provisional admissions. Graduate faculty emphasize the importance of these alternative admissions programs, citing years of experience with students who bring life experience and determination to their graduate studies, reinforced by mentoring, encouragement, and academic rigor.
